Word of the Week #2 for week of 9/2/2013
Befuddling
"Near-adolescent romantic haze befuddling me as I ascended stairs."
Verb
Source: Phillip K. Dick's The Man in the High Castle
1. to confuse, as with glib statements or arguments.
2. to make muddled or stupidly drunk.
I came across this word while reading PKD's The Man in the High Castle, a science fiction book about alternate history where the Nazi's won the war and split up the U.S.A between Japan, Italy and Germany. The character in this part is walking up a set of stairs after a very awkward dinner with a high society couple and he's feeling very distraught, this was part of that character's inner dialogue.
